Project Description
The Volcanic Cenozoic Atlas of Greece was a scientific mapping project documenting and spatially referencing all known Cenozoic volcanic formations across the Greek territory and Aegean island arc.
My contribution involved:
- Building the GIS spatial database from digitised geological maps and field survey data
- Classifying volcanic formation types (lava flows, pyroclastic deposits, calderas, etc.)
- Designing cartographic outputs for the printed atlas in ArcView
- Geological analysis using the Atlas of Cenozoic Volcanism in Greece application.
The resulting atlas was used as a reference by geological survey institutions and researchers studying the Hellenic volcanic arc.
