Project Description
The RSC 2010 project was a national-scale remote sensing and land cover classification exercise covering Greek territory, carried out at Eratosthenes S.A. in Athens.
The project involved:
- Processing and mosaicking multispectral satellite imagery from multiple sensors
- Supervised and unsupervised classification of land use / land cover categories
- Accuracy assessment using ground truth data and confusion matrices
- Production of cartographic outputs in standard INSPIRE-compliant formats
- Integration with existing national GIS datasets
The classified outputs were delivered to government clients for environmental monitoring and land management applications.
Skills Used
- ESRI ArcGIS (Spatial Analyst, Image Analyst)
- Erdas Imagine
- Python (batch processing)
- Remote sensing classification methods
- Cartographic production
