Project Description

This project developed a bespoke GIS application for managing mining lease areas for silver and baryte ore deposits in northern Greece. The system was commissioned by a private mining company operating concessions under the Greek Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change.

The application provided:

  • A spatial database of all mining lease boundaries, overlaid with geological survey data
  • Integration with the Greek cadastral system to track land ownership within lease areas
  • Legal document management linked to spatial features
  • Automated buffer and conflict analysis to identify overlapping claims or proximity to protected areas
  • Report generation for regulatory compliance

Skills Used

  • ESRI ArcView 3.x / ArcGIS
  • Visual Basic 6
  • Geological and cadastral data integration
