Neighbourhoods and accidents (UEA University)

Project Description

Neighbourhood and household influences on injuries to preschool children funded by Department of Health. This research attempted to separate individual and neighbourhood influences on injury rates to about 13,000 preschool children recruited into the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children in Bristol and its surrounding region.

Project Aims

The questions behind this study are: a) Are injury risks due to living in a poor household or a poor neighbourhood? and b) What household and neighbourhood features underlie these increased risks?
